Celebrating Culture And Heritage
We are proud of our different cultures
At the Neath Port Talbot BME community association we value the different cultures and heritages of different ethnicities.

Black History Month 365
In partnership with UNISON and Safer Neath Port Talbot, we hosted an event to celebrate Black History Wales 365. Held at St Paul’s Centre in Port Talbot, the day featured inspiring guest speakers, displays of Welsh Black role models, and biographies of families who settled in Port Talbot during the 1950s and 1960s. A special video, “Just ah likkle piece of Jamaica inna Port Talbot”, added to the celebration. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to honour Black History and its lasting contribution to our communities.
Food, Faith and Culture Celebration Day at Ysgol Cwm Brombil
Our community came together with Ysgol Cwm Brombil to host a Food, Faith and Culture Celebration. The event highlighted the many cultures that make up Neath Port Talbot, with performances, music, food, and traditional dress.
It was a joyful occasion where everyone had the chance to learn, share, and celebrate the diversity that enriches our community.

Windrush Day
We hosted a coffee morning to mark Windrush Day, bringing people together to reflect on the history and legacy of the Windrush generation. The event began with a presentation that sparked meaningful conversations, with attendees sharing personal stories of moving to Wales.
The morning ended on a creative note with an arts and crafts activity, making flag keyrings to celebrate identity and culture.
