  • Diwali 2020 What is Diwali? Diwali is the Indian festival of lights, usually lasting five days, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world every year. It is known as the festival of lights, because on this day, people illuminate their homes and premises with Diya’s (lamps) and colourful lights, which symbolises the spiritual ‘victory of light over darkness’, also marking the start of the Hindu New Year.
